To the editor:
If you’re reading this and are a former participant and attendee of the Cicero CanTeen, you need to read this. They need our help, and now we have an opportunity to give back to a place that was always there for us.
If you ever went there, you know how important this place is. Every teenager in the NSCSD deserves to have this facility available to them. This place helped mold me into the person that I am today. It was here that I learned that I wasn’t alone in the world and that I had the strength to face my fears and failures — to overcome them. This place, the staff (especially Toni’Lyn Grasso Brauchle), the community — without all of this I can confidently promise you that I would not be where I am today, and I would not have had the courage to pursue all the success that I’ve earned.
Please read this call to action and consider giving your time and effort to a group of people who have tirelessly been giving their time and effort to the teens of the North Syracuse Central School District for almost two whole decades. They deserve this, and so does every single teenager in the community.
