At the June 27 meeting of the Fayetteville Village Board, Trustee Dan Kinsella will read an address that was given by his mother, who was named the salutatorian of Union Free School, almost 100 years to the day that the speech was given.
Union Free School, which served as Fayetteville High School nearly a century ago, sat on the location where the Fayetteville Village Hall and Fire Station now sit. Kinsella’s mother gave the address on June 28, 1916 to fellow graduates, parents and community members.
The public is invited to hear this piece of history at 6 p.m., Monday, June 27 at the Fayetteville Village Offices, 425 E. Genesee St. in Fayetteville.
