The DeWitt Community Library invites patrons to make their own movies with new video kits for loan. Document your weekend getaway, record family histories or begin filming your first cinematic masterpiece with the new kits being offered through the library’s popular Digital Production Club.
The video kits, which were funded with a gift from the Friends of the DeWitt Community Library, include a Kodak PlaySport Zx3 pocket video camera and case, an 8-inch and 75-inch tripods, and an 8GB SD card.
The library’s Digital Production Club (DPC) offers workshops on how to use the video kits and introduces library patrons to digital production technologies. Patrons may also sign up for a one-on-one tech tutorial to learn how to use the kits. Upcoming programs hosted by the DPC include Digital Movie Making, Digital Reader’s Theater, Stop Motion Animation and Slow Motion Video Fun.
Originally conceived as a program for teens, the DPC has recently expanded to offer adult workshops and activities such as the successful Actor’s Digital Table Reading events which allow actors of all experience levels the opportunity to perform scenes from famous plays, movies, and more.
