No one in last week’s set of matches was able to stop the Skaneateles girls tennis team from maintaining its undefeated mark and moving to 7-0 on the season.
First, the Lakers hosted Jordan-Elbridge Tuesday afternoon at Austin Park and rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Eagles, which included a forfeit to Erica Byrne in third singles.
Of the singles matches that were contested, Angela Krause made it through a second-set tie-breaker to beat Marissa Malvaso 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), while Olivia Gage shut out Toni Malvaso 6-0, 6-0.
All of the doubles matches were one-sided, too, as again the Lakers mixed up its teams. Katelyn Ellison and Liz Belinski handled Annalea O’Brien and Ciara VanHeesch 6-1, 6-1, while Bailey Parsons and Alex Ditch rolled past Abbey Karlik and Megan Hatt 6-0, 6-2.
Maura McNeil and Maddy Pinkney got a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Miranda Malvaso and Kaitlyn Spencer, with Julia Torrisi and Rachel Feeney topping Kayla Corgnell and Felicia Fiacco by those same scores.
Skaneateles dominated again in Thursday’s 7-0 win over Pulaski. Byrne did not surrender a game as she shut out Delilah Mehallow 6-0, 6-0, while Gage got a 6-0, 6-2 win over Cerenity Geer and Krause beat Jennifer Lapp 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles action, McNeil and Pinkney blanked Abby Bonanno and Savannah Goodsell 6-0, 6-0 before Torrisi and Feeney beat Katie Chase and Alexis Bowen 6-0, 6-1.
Ellison and Belinski turned back Samantha Davis and Alaura Gonzalez 6-1, 6-0 as Hope Allyn and Emily Collins got a turn in doubles and, in the closest of the seven contests, won, 6-2, 6-3, over Hannah Masuicca and Carly Gaffney.
Skaneateles meets up with two big rivals next week, facing Marcellus on Tuesday and then battling Cazenovia Thursday at Austin Park.
