Though it already had the OHSL Liberty division regular-season title wrapped up, the Cazenovia girls track and field team had some work left in the regular season.
And the Lakers capped an unbeaten league run last Wednesday afternoon, improving to 5-0 when it roared past the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Rebels by a score of 110-31.
Meggie Hart led Cazenovia on the track, beating the field in the 1,500-meter run in 5:07.4 and also taking the 800-meter run in 2:34.1 as Clara Rowles ran 3,000 meters in 10:46.7.
Moving to the sprints, APW’s Kyile Bartlett interrupted a bit, taking the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash to go with a high jump title, but Kirsten Underwood still won the 100-meter dash in 13.7 seconds as Maria Stalder took the 400-meter dash (1:04.6) and Jamie Joseph, in the 400 hurdles, finished first in 1:14.8.

Chittenango’s girls track and field team also faced Homer, and it wasn’t as close, the Bears falling 104-29 as the Trojans remained undefeated and clinched a share of the OHSL Freedom division regular-season title.
All of the Bears’ wins came in field events, where Krissy Roberts prevailed twice, taking the triple jump by going 30 feet 10 inches and adding a top long jump of 15’3”. Sara Loucks added a title in the discus, throwing it 74’10”.
