A steady effort by the West Genesee bowling teams produced a sweep of last Tuesday’s match with Liverpool at Flamingo Bowl, beginning a successful week, especially for the boys Wildcats and its top performer, Steve Weiskopff.
Against the Warriors, the girls Wildcats swept the Warriors, 3-0, as Morgan Reither led with a 470 series that included a 177 high game. Hayley Cosgrove, with a 426 series (159 high game), was one pin better than Sara Gillette (425 series).
Also for WG, Taylor Ginestro had a 414 series and Kristen Moth managed a three-game total of 400. Liverpool’s Dailyn McCarthy led her side with a 433 series and 170 high game.
It was closer on the boys side, but led by Weiskopff, WG prevailed over Liverpool 2-1, as Weiskopff shot a three-game total of 640, aided by a 246 high game.
Dave Neri shot a 200 game to help out, while Ben Conroy put together a 487 series and 182 high game and Peter Forsyche posted a 186 game during his 467 series.
Following that up, WG’s boys won again on Friday, stopping Baldwinsville 2-1 at B’ville Sports Bowl despite seeing the Bees’ Tyler Watchus (who rolled a 300 game against Fayetteville-Manlius earlier in the week) put up a 288 game and 710 series here.
Weiskopff had his own 10-strike effort as he put together a 279 game, which led to a three-game total of 656. Jack Boulerice, with a 455 series, led the rest of the pack, including Neri, with a 446 series, and Conroy, with a three-game total of 414.
Unlike with Liverpool, WG’s girls lost this match, 3-0, to B’ville, with no one able to top Rether’s three-game total of 374 on the Wildcats’ side as Kaitlynn Asditt had a 216 game and 489 series for the Bees.
Two days before Christmas, the boys Wildcats continued its win streak, this time getting past Central Square 3-0 as Weiskopff shot a 242 game on his way to a 637 series. Peter Forsyche added a 186 game in his 509 set as the Redhawks’ Zach Griffing produced a 570 series and 224 high game.
Bouncing back, the WG girls beat Central Square in a closer 2-1 decision. Rether stepped up as she returned to Solvay Recreation Alley and shot a 566 series that included a high game of 235. Kristen Moth improved, too, getting a three-game total of 495.
Solvay met Homer last Wednesday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes and swept that match.
The girls Bearcats won, 3-0, over the Trojans, seeing Molly McGuire shoot a 612 series that included a 222 high game. Carissa Moleski added a 203 game in her 512 set as Jessica Birdslow put up a three-game total of 480.
On the boys side, Solvay handled Homer by that same 3-0 margin. Joe Esposito managed a 631 series and high game of 246, with Ryan Aylesworth getting a 236 game during his 590 set and Brandon Grant also earning a three-game total of 590. Storm Grant’s 205 game led to a 564 series and Brandon Aylesworth had a 528 total.
