Perry Springs in Manlius will be the site of two benches to be constructed as part of a local scout’s Eagle Scout project.
Alex Holden, 15, a sophomore at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, presented his plan to the Manlius Village Board at its meeting Tuesday, June 12.
He estimated the cost to be about $1,000 for the benches, with the money raised through donations.
The boards for the bench will be pressure treated lumber and the metal frame will be painted “Manlius green,” he said. “They should last.” He added that there will be plaques affixed to each bench with the donors’ names inscribed.
“You did a nice job. That was a nice presentation,” Mayor Mark-Paul Serafin said after the board voted to approve the project.
