Solvay Union Free School District Superintendent Jody Manning will serve as the new district superintendent for the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Board of Cooperative Educational Services, effective Aug. 1.
The OCM BOCES board appointed Manning as the new district superintendent of schools at its June 6 meeting.
Manning has served as a business administrator, district clerk, grade level administrator, assistant principal and teacher. He also has experience as a summer school principal, adult education instructor and chaired a superintendent’s issue and analysis team.
Manning has also received numerous awards and recognition for his community-based work, and is a member of several professional educational organizations.
The search and selection process for the new OCM BOCES superintendent began in January. Manning was chosen as a final candidate for the position from a pool of nine applicants. He met with various superintendents, BOCES administrators and both instructional and non-instructional staff. Manning also met with the Commissioner of Education for a final interview and assessment of his qualifications and experience.
“The OCM BOCES Board of Education enthusiastically welcomes Mr. Manning,” said OCM BOCES board president Ann Wright in a press release. “We are looking forward to working with him to continue to provide quality services for students, school districts and the CNY communities that OCM BOCES serves.”
