Pictured right, Liverpool author Judith La Manna Rivette signs a copy of “State Fair Stories” for Lou Fioravanti of Irondequoit. Fioravanti purchased the book for his father-in-law, Ron Taylor, who lives in Nevada but used to live in New York and work at the fair. He was hoping the book, filled with over 100 stories of visits to the fair, might inspire a visit home.
Rivette will offer an interactive reading of her children’s book “Two Kids at the Fair” at the State Parks Gift Pavilion from noon to 1 p.m. Friday Sept. 3 and be available to sign books until 3 p.m. Rivette’s “Two Kids” books invite the readers into the story by having them choose the names of the kids.
Rivette followed up to “Two Kids at the Fair” with “Two Kids at the Zoo.” For her next book, “Two Kids and the Dinosaurs,” Rivette is offering students in second and third grade a chance to pick the name of the teacher by entering a dinosaur report-writing contest. Teachers interested in offering this program to their students are encouraged to e-mail Rivette at [email protected].
