VILLAGE OF MANLIUS – This past weekend, a group of six men, most wearing face coverings, held a small rally in front of the Swan Pond in Manlius, waving signs and flags with messages including “White Pride Worldwide,” “White Lives Matter,” and “Save The Swans End Immigration.” The display sparked outrage on a number of local social media channels.
In response to the incident, the town of Manlius and villages of Fayetteville, Manlius and Minoa released the following statement:
In response to the recent white supremacist rallies that have taken place in Manlius, the town and three villages stand firmly against hate, discrimination, and bigotry in all its forms. We condemn these acts of racism and prejudice and urge our community to come together to promote unity, understanding, and inclusivity.
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and cultures, and we embrace the diversity that enriches our community. We believe that by acknowledging and respecting our differences, we can build a stronger and more harmonious society.
We call upon community leaders to take a stand against dangerous ideologies that seek to cause division. It is crucial that we collectively address the root causes of such ideologies and work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of our community.
