BALDWINSVILLE – Now the Baldwinsville girls swim team is in the midst of full-time preparation for the Nov. 2 Section III Class A championships, its regular season concluded.
The Bees swam one more time in front of home fans last Thursday night, facing Jamesville-DeWitt, and got two more victories from Eva Smith during a 46-43 loss to the Red Rams.
Smith went 25.12 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, with Jillianna Leggett second in 29.75. Then, in the 100 butterfly, Smith prevailed in 1:02.84, more than 12 seconds ahead of the field.
Later in the meet, Eliza Gramiak posted a first-place time of 1:27.20 in the 100 breaststroke. Kenna Luke was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:20.94 and 500 freestyle in 5:57.13.

All of this followed B’ville’s appearance in the Oct. 14 Salt City Sprint Invitational, with most swimmers donning purple caps and suits for the cause of domestic violence awareness.

Mia Rinko finished sixth in the 50 breaststroke in 36.97 seconds, also helping Smith, Williams and Ava Bullis take seventh in the 200 medley relay in 2:09.79. Luke, Gramiak, Gwendolen Matt and Ava Corey were sixth in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:08.58.
