ONONDAGA COUNTY – All through this week, the Cicero-North Syracuse golf teams would both take on Liverpool on the Warriors’ home course at Hickory Hills.
Prior to that, though, C-NS Blue would battle Baldwinsville at Northern Pines, hoping to upend the unbeaten Bees before it challenged Fayetteville-Manilus Green.
Rain affected the schedule, with the only match early in the week coming when C-NS Green hosted West Genesee and took a 247-261 defeat to the Wildcats.
Lindsey Kubala shot a 59, but that trailed the 51 from WG’s Sophia Simiele. Mya Ashkar had a 63, but three Wildcats beat the 69 from Jillian Bambino and 70 from Lauren Sisk.
Then C-NS Blue’s match with Baldwinsville on Wednesday got rained out, too. But C-NS Green did play on Thursday against F-M Green and lost, 194-263, to the Hornets.
Bambino put up a 62, with Kubala, Ashkar and Hailey Swenton each posting 67. F-M Green swept the top four, though, as Gabby Dardis and Elizabeth Noel both shot 48 to lead the Hornets.
Only on Friday did C-NS Blue return, and it routed West Genesee 187-252 behind a sweep of the top four positions.
Jessica Ricciardi and Isabella Borte led the way, each of them posting rounds of 41, while Andrea Wheaton had a 52 and Gabby DiOrio earned a 53. Each of them beat Simiele’s 57 that led the Wildcats.
