WAPPINGERS FALLS – Ryan Hagan put together another memorable performance leading the Liverpool cross country teams as they took part in the Nov. 20 New York State Federation championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls.
Hagan covered the Bowdoin Park course in 16 minutes, 10.4 seconds, putting him in sixth place amid a field of more than 280 runners.
This was less than a minute behind the winning 15:34.7 from LaSalle Institute’s Gitch Hayes and not far from the third-place 15:50 flat from West Genesee’s Peter McMahon.
As a team, the Liverpool boys made its way to 12th place out of 30 sides, with Fayetteville-Manlius second to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.
Jack Sherlock finished just outside the top 100 individuals and posted 17:43.9. Gavin Kenna, in 18:03.6, was ahead of the 18:07.1 from Jacob Makhlouf. Austin Ziegler, in 18:34.9, was ahead of Mike Purvis (19:12.3) and J.T. Goss (19:58.8).
In the girls state Federation race, Liverpool finished 15th out of 31 sides with 416 points. As in the NYSPHSAA Class A meet a week earlier, Saratoga Springs prevailed, with F-M second.
Addyson Graham led the Warriors, her time of 20:32 flat putting her inside the top 100 as Megan Moyer, in 20:36 flat, was four seconds behind.
Taylor Page posted 21:23.1, beating out a 21;24.6 from Addison Ziegler. Addison Miles finished in 21:47.6, with Eva Woodworth (22:07.7) ahead of Kaitlin Hotaling’s 22:49.9.
