SKANEATELES — The Skaneateles Library will host a fascinating virtual discussion about one of America’s most tragic first ladies with Lincoln scholar Jason Emerson at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 9th.
A book 10 years in the making, Mary Lincoln for the Ages is an indispensable guide to understanding how different representations of the controversial first lady have affected what we think we know about her. Through his deft analysis of nearly every word written about her, Emerson reveals how views about Mary Lincoln have evolved and sets the stage for new questions and debates about the themes and controversies that have defined her legacy.
This online event will take place via Zoom. Register at skanlibrary.org to receive the link you’ll need to attend.
