CENTRAL NEW YORK – Even though temperatures and conditions might fluctuate the Fayetteville-Manlius and Christian Brothers Academy girls golf teams remain consistent in their ability to outclass any of its competition.
In the case of F-M Green it rolled past Baldwinsville Red 163-204 last Monday at Green Lakes for its fifth win in a row, Elizabeth Noel nearly matching pa for nine holes shooting a 37.
Maya Moody won a close race for second place as she posted 41, Erin Graves adding a 42 and Lindsey Chong a 43, all of them well clear of the low Bees total of 49 from Abigail Mantione.
Two days later F-M Green and F-M White met each other at Green Lakes and F-M Green won it 174-213, with its top players again at the forefront.
Chong’s 42 was one better than Noel’s 43. Moody had a 44 and Fullmer added a 45, all ahead of the best F-M White round of 49 from Katherine Parmley which beat Adaline Davies, Megan Dumas (53 each) and Charlotte Pipes (58).
Keeping it up on Thursday F-M Green routed B’ville White 156-274. Fuller’s 37 edged Gabby Dardis, who had a 38, with Moody posting 40 and Chong a 41 as Elizabeth Noel earned a 44 and Claire Zerillo shot 47.
Then it was a 162-245 win over Cicero-North Syracuse Green on Friday afternoon. Chong’s 37 nearly matched par and beat a 41 from Fullmer, with Dardis and Moody both shooting 42 to improve the Hornets’ mark to 9-0.
Meanwhile, CBA went to Skaneateles last Monday and handled the Lakers 182-231 with a top-four individual sweep at Skaneateles Country Club in what turned out to be its lone match of the week.
Anna Fuller and Clara DeFilippis tied for individual honors, each shooting 43. There was also a tie for third between Alicia Snyder and Olivia Dispenzia who both posted 47 as Josie Lachut’s 49 equaled the low Skaneateles total from Cate Gunderson.
In Friday’s 194-211 victory over Cazenovia, CBA was led by DeFilippis who shot 40, three ahead of the low Lakers round by Lauri Busch. Layla Smart (49) beat out Carlysle Ducey (50) for third place as Snyder finished with a 51.
Manlius Pebble Hill met Marcellus last Thursday at Tuscarora Golf Club and lost 211-273. Lilah Temes shot a 56 for the Trojans and Jenny He added a 57. A 315-316 defeat to Chittenango followed on Friday afternoon.
Jamesville-DeWitt and East Syracuse Minoa would engage in a series of large-scale matches against most of its SCAC Empire division foes starting last Monday at Oswego Country Club.
Here the Red Rams shot 199 to easily beat the runner-up 217 from both the Spartans and Auburn. In a close race for individual honors J-D’s Jaeda Robinson and Yara Farah tied for firth each posting 45.
Makenna Buffum was third with a 51 to lead the Spartans as Leah Chavoustie tied for sixth shooting 54. Natalie Christian equaled Chavoustie’s total and Kendall Cabiles, shooting a 55, edged the 56 from Mandalee Fisher. Lydia DiJulio and Lyda Butterfield each finished at 56 for the Spartans.
In boys golf Manlius Pebble Hill shot 215 in a three-team match to beat Solvay (258) and Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (282) at Drumlins, where Owen Sacks led the Trojans with a 39 and Jacob Temes added a 41, with Carter Zimmerman getting a 43 ahead of Dash Goode’s 44 and Jack Liddy’s 48.
MPH then shot 222 on Thursday to beat Cato-Meridian’s 247 and Fabius-Pompey’s 249. Again Sacks was the top individual, his 40 one ahead of Zimmerman’s 41 as Sun-Jin Shah shot 45 and Goode added a 46.
Only on Friday did MPH’s win streak halt in a tight 224-227 decision to Pulaski. Sacks and Goode both shot 44 but three Blue Devils matched or bettered that total led by a 40 from Matt Daley. Zimmerman and Shah both posted 45.
Bishop Grimes won last Wednesday over Cato-Meridian 211-243, with Dominic Kensey nearly matching par shooting 37 for the Cobras. Christian Aiello put up a 42, with Cooper Boots shooting 43, Chaye Pal a 44 and Nate Abernethy a 45.
