ONONDAGA COUNTY – Renewing their long-time rivalry the Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool bowling teams would clash last Tuesday afternoon at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.
And while the Northstars won both sides of the match, the 5-2 boys contest featured a close battle for pinfall, C-NS getting 3,551 to Liverpool’s 3,454.
To lead the Northstars, Garrett Arnold shot a 682 series with games of 246, 233 and 203. Terry Miller opened with a 235 on his way to a 632 series, while Hunter Baciuska improved from 188 to 207 and 222 in his 617 set.
Nehemiah Bachmann struggled late but only after games of 205 and 229, with Cameron Miller’s 237 commencing a 573 series as Nick Hudson shot a 204 game.
Liverpool’s Mykey Hatherill shot a season-best 265 and followed with a pair of 201s for a 667 series. Kaden Lake had 221 and 215 in his 615 series, while Jahkir Jackson closed with 213 in his 589 series and
Kyle Lake was steady with a 573 series that had games of 195 and 197. Chris Harding contributed a 229 game.
Over in the girls match C-NS blanked Liverpool 7-0. Melody Schwartz’s 190 game opened a 476 series which topped all individuals, Trinity Short close behind with a 193 during a 469 series and Jennifer Draper earning a three-game total of 458. Sara Conver paced Liverpool with a 493 series thanks to games of 166, 168 and 159.
Three days into 2025 C-NS was in action again, looking to build upon a 7-2 record and doing so.
Against Fayetteville-Manlius at Green Lakes Lanes the Northstars shut out the Hornets 7-0, with Bachmann leading the way as he shot games of 236, 255 and 235 to produce a 726 series.
Arnold also was steady with a 652 series from games of 222, 223 and 207, while Cameron Miller started out with 233 and 234 in his 635 series. Jayson Gilchrist added a three-game total of 500 as Sean Bird led F-M with a 612 series.
The C-NS girls lost to F-M by that same 7-0 margin. Draper had a 493 series with games of 173 and 170, Short adding a 199 game in her 473 series and Schwartz posting a 440 series. The Hornets got a 506 series from Ashlynn Yonge and 495 series from Lillian Squire.
