Manlius — The seats of the Manlius supervisor, clerk, justice, highway superintendent and three town councilors will remain in the hands of the Republican incumbents, who all ran in uncontested elections on Nov. 3.
Current supervisor Ed Theobald, a Republican, has been in the seat since 2010 and received 99.07 percent of the 4,409 total votes that were reported in Manlius this year. Theobald was endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independent parties in this election
“In this next term, we hope to continue to encourage controlled growth and work with the villages in the town to continue to make Manlius a great place to live,” Theobald said on Election Night.
Town Councilors John Loeffler and Nicholas Mazola were up for reelection in their seats, which have terms of four years. Richard Rossetti is a newcomer to the board that was elected to fill the seat of Jason Cassalia in January 2015 after he left to take a position as undersheriff at the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
Loeffler received 33.32 percent, Marzola 33.24 percent and Rossetti 32.73 percent. All town councilor candidates were endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independent parties. The seven-member town board is currently made-up of all Republicans.
Republican Town Clerk Allison Edsall won her uncontested campaign with 99.32 percent of the votes and has been in this position since 2008.
Additionally, Manlius Town Justice Salvatore Pavone, a Republican, won his uncontested race with 99.43 percent. Highway Superintendent Robert Cushing, also a Republican, won with 99.46 percent.
