DeWitt — DeWitt Police report they made a speedy arrest of a for a strong arm robbery that occurred in the afternoon of Jan. 27 at Five Guys Burgers and Fries on 3179 Erie Boulevard East in DeWitt.
Officers say at about 2:10 p.m. at the restaurant, the male suspect, identified as Leonard Graham, 39, of Syracuse, came through a side employee door while the manager, Marko Clark, was in the back kitchen area. Clark told Graham he could not be in the employee area when Graham shoved Clark taking him completely off his feet and sending him several feet across the floor and directly onto his back.
Police report Graham then went into the manager’s office and attempted to get into the locked safe, but was unable to. Graham went back out front and told the staff he was the owner and that they were all fired, according to police.
The time from dispatch to police arrival was under four minutes, said Lieutenant Scott Hare, and Graham was still at the restaurant upon arrival.
Police say Clark complained of back pain at the time of the arrest and no weapon was displayed or threatened.
DeWitt Police arrested Graham for robbery in the second degree and assault in the third degree. He was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court and held at the Justice Center on $50,000cash/$100,000 bond.
