Swimmers from Fayetteville-Manlius and Jamesville-DeWitt/CBA made their way to Long Island’s Nassau Aquatic Center for last weekend’s New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship meet.
Hornets junior Kevin Koh had a top-10 finish in his specialty, the 100-yard butterfly, where he took ninth place in 52.05 seconds, while senior Ryan Kelley worked his way to 10th place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.49 seconds.
Koh was 11th and Kelley 13th in the Federation editions of those same events, while Koh also competed in the 50 freestyle, unable to qualify for Saturday’s races despite a time of 22.48 seconds.
Meanwhile, Jack Robinson worked his way to 21st place in the 200 individual medley in a clocking of 2:01.25. He was 32nd in the 100 backstroke in 54.54 seconds.
Put together, Robinson, Koh, Kelley and Will Twichell rose to 10th place in the 200 medley relay, finishing in 1:38.83. In the 400 freestyle relay, Robinson, Koh, Kelley and Zach Swanson took 35th place in 3:21.91.
J-D/CBA did better in that 400 free relay. Garrett Farchione, Cole Speidel, Ryan Byrnes and Eric Jorgensen worked their way to 19th place in 3:17.33. Josh Lacey also represented the Red Rams in the 500 freestyle, taking 38th place in 4:55.66 as Jorgensen was 31st in the 50 freestyle in 22.46 seconds.
