Geddes gas station robbed at gunpoint, witnesses say

A man wearing a white plastic Halloween mask walked into the Hess Mart located at 3400 West Genesee St., Geddes, at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money from the clerk, witnesses told the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department late last night.

According to witnesses, the clerk complied with the demands of the suspect, who then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing north from the store. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, approximately 5′ 7″ tall and weighing close to 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with gold-colored stitching, a black hooded sweatshirt and the white plastic Halloween mask.

The town of Camillus and town of Geddes police departments were called to the scene to assist deputies search the area for the suspect, said Sergeant John D’Eredita.

The investigations division also reported to the scene and asks anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 435-3081.
