East Syracuse-Minoa’s girls track and field team split a three-way “Tiger” meet with Cortland and Mexico, beating Cortland’s Purple Tigers 79-52 but falling to Mexico’s Tigers 73-64.

Cara Andrianos, on her own, prevailed in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:18.4, and teamed with Grace Maring, Andrea Reidman and Alyssa Passett to take the 4×800 relay in 11:30.

Reidman added her own title in the 800-meter run (2:50.1), as Amanda Wall took the 400-meter dash (1:06.2). Chelsea Medler swept the throwing events, tossing the shot put 27 feet and the discus 77 feet 10 inches.

ESM would also split against Chittenango on Thursday, beating the Bears 80-61 on the boys side but losing the girls meet 74-67.

Mike Coogan led the boys Spartans with a sweep of the distance running events, taking the 800 (2:16.2) and mile (4:47.7) while claiming the 3,200 in 10:15.8. Steve Episcopo cleared 10 feet 6 inches in the pole vault and Jason Purdey threw the discus 101 feet 3 1/2 inches.

Not content with his trio of wins, Coogan joined Craig Andrianos, Mike Coogan and Pete Ferstler to win the 4×800 relay in 9:08.5. In the 4×100, Marc Castro, Mike Nicholson, Kyle Gagen and Andres Salcedo prevailed in 48.1 seconds.

In the girls meet, Meghan Visser earned a double in the 1,500 (5:22.0) and 3,000 (11:49.2), while Reidman took the 800 in 2:36.6. Charlotte Visser added a win in the shot put (26 feet 2 inches) as Reidman, Maring, Cara Andrianos and Meg Crandall to win the 4×800 in 10:53.0.

Chittenango’s Brittany Tirabassi won four times — in the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, high jump and pole vault — while teammate Courtney Dyer swept the 100, 200 and 400 sprints, plus helped in a relay.
