Still at work during the holiday break, the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team earned third place in a nine-team field during the afternoon session of last Tuesday’s CNY Indoor Track Association meet at SUNY-Cortland.
All told, the Bees had 51 points, just behind Cicero-North Syracuse (58 points) for the runner-up spot as Liverpool won with 86 points.
Brian Kane controlled the high jump, clearing 6 feet 2 inches to win the individual title. Also, Kane and Jon Hingre won the team crown as they combined to clear 11 feet 4 inches. Hingre later helped Andrew Hoover get second (18.39 seconds) in the 55-meter hurdles relay.
Kane was second among individuals in the triple jump (39 feet 2 1/2 inches), combining with Alan Gribble as they finished second overall with a combined 69 feet 9 1/2 inches.
In the 2,000 sprint medley, Brian Wisely, Joseph Morra, Zach McCaleb and James Fleming worked together to earn a victory in 4:02.67, just ahead of CNS (4:03.98) at the wire.
B’ville also earned second in the 4×800 relay, as Adam Pacheck, Ethan Pacheck, Josh Perez and Alec Peinkofer earned second place in 9:03.04.
Hoover, Alex Nagy, Todd Mitchell and Nate McCabe combined for a time of 3:52.84 and third place in the 4×400 relay. The Bees were also sixth in the pole vault as Gribble cleared 8 feet.
