New community police presence in Syracuse

The Butternut Community Police Center, 909 Butternut St., opened its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 9.

According to Pastor James Gebhardt of The Father’s Heart Ministries the vision of this Police Community Center, administered by Syracuse Police officer Kenn Burdick, will include building relationships with many of the refugees that have arrived here from various places around the world where civil unrest and war has broken out — Burundi, Somalia, Iraq, Nepal, Burma and others. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time, energy or resources or to make a financial tax-deductible or household donation are encouraged to call Pastor Gebhardt or Officer Burdick or at 471-TFHM (8346).
