Hockey Bees blank Liverpool, 3-0

Off a third-place finish at its own tournament, the last thing the Baldwinsville ice hockey team needed was any more stress.

Yet the Bees had it going into the third period of last Tuesday night’s game against Liverpool at Lysander Arena before a fast finish produced a 3-0 victory over the Warriors.

For the first 30 minutes, B’ville and Liverpool exchanged many different scoring chances. But the two goalie — Mark Miler for the Bees, Mike Sportelli for the Warriors — turned away everything, adding to the tension.

But in that last period, B’ville got out in front. Paul Schneid earned two goals, each of them assisted by John Waldon, who earned the other tally as Greg Tedd gained two assists of his own. Miller finished with 29 saves and the shutout.
