Given the current economy and budget crises at the state and county levels, which areas of the budget do you feel the town could cut back to alleviate the pressure on taxpayers?
I believe the current Town Board has done a fine job maintaining cost of services and operating our Town in the black.
In what ways do you think the town could consolidate services with villages, neighboring towns or the county to increase efficiency and keep costs down?
The town is currently looking into the consolidation of Fire Services. This may or may not be advantageous to the Town and its residents but certainly should be looked at.
What recent projects do you feel you would have approached differently than the incumbent and why?
None that I can think of off hand.
In what area is the town most in need of improvement and how would you work to fix that?
We have a terrible problem in this town with some of our residents having difficulty with one of the most basic of needs, drinking water. Many residents have wells and the water is so bad that they can’t drink the water or have to spend small fortunes to treat it. I know some of the wells are old and possibly not deep enough to be at a level where good water can be reached. I would like us to continue to help residents get water through extensions of Water utility services and possibly look into helping some people retain inexpensive loans for the replacement or re-drilling of a well. This would certainly improve the quality of living for some people.
