For the season, the Skaneateles girls swim team went 5-4, and it invaded the annals one more time in last Tuesday’s meet against Jamesville-DeWitt, despite a 103-81 loss to the Red Rams at the Community Center.
Rachel DeWitt did the honor, as she swam the 500 freestyle in five minutes, 40.98 seconds, a new school record. This followed a victory in the 200 individual medley in 2:29.71.
Elsewhere, the Lakers saw Nikki Cole sprint to victory in the 50 freestyle (26.86 seconds) and add another title in the 100 freestyle in 1:01.21. Kaela Fiutak earned 200.75 points on the diving board.
Skaneateles also claimed two of three relay races. Cole, DeWitt, Sarah Sawyer and Amanda Shoenfelt combined for a 200 freestyle relay time of 1:52.47, and later in the meet the Lakers saw DeWitt, Cole, Sawyer and Holly Ross win the 400 freestyle relay in 4:06.34.
