Making sure that its Senior Night remained special to the very end, the Liverpool girls swim team dominated Utica Proctor last Tuesday night, beating the Raiders 99-66.
Part of the fun for the Warriors involved getting some lesser-known swimmers involved, including Ashley Zemotel, who won twice. Zemotel claimed the 50 freestyle in 28.22 seconds and also won the 100 butterfly in 1:20.53.
Becky Evangelista earned two titles, as she took the 200 individual medley (2:26.17) and also claimed the 100 backstroke in 1:09.57.
Julia Mondo was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.04), with Colleen McCarthy claiming the 500 freestyle (6:11.73) and Mikayla VanSlyke winning the 200 freestyle in 2:19.75. Emily Isbell earned first place on the diving board with 180.35 points.
Liverpool also swept the relays, starting in the 200 medley, when Evangelista, Cole, McCarthy and Jessica Hebblethewaite posted a time of 2:06.63.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Hebblethewaite returned, helping Jordan Bailer, Shannon Perry and Madison Sestak as they won in 2:03.76. And in the 400 freestyle relay, Cole, Renee Stromski, Kim Burdo and Kylie Spado prevailed in 4:22.69.
