Make that another clean sweep of the OHSL Freedom division accomplished by Jamesville-DeWitt’s cross country teams — done with equally perfect marks.
The Red Rams completed their dual 7-0 runs through the league Wednesday by going to Fulton and taking out the Red Raiders — 18-50 on the girls side, 20-42 on the boys side.
Eileen Cody earned yet another victory for the J-D girls team against Fulton. Her time of 20 minutes, 11 seconds beat teammate Ameena Dye, who was second in 21 minutes flat.
Rebecca Bergman, in fourth place (21:43), led the next charge, as the Rams’ Grace Bradshaw took fifth place (22:11), two seconds ahead of Paige Morrow, who closed out the scoring grid. Rebecca Doss was seventh (22:20) and Amber Blom was eighth (22:28) before Avery Share grabbed 10th place in 22:57.
As for the J-D boys team, Bumkoth Jiak had to settle for second place among individuals, his time of 17:09 topped by Fulton star Noah Carroll, who won in 16:44.
The Rams made up for it by taking the next five spots behind Jiak, starting with Dan Driscoll, in third place with a clocking of 17:29. Jacob Gorke was fourth (17:35), with Eamon Kissane fifth in 17:54. Tyler Petersen was sixth (18:01) and Jack Healy seventh (18:28), as John Lenish (19:27) and Reggie Coli (19:35) also hit the top 10.
As this went on, East Syracuse-Minoa was splitting its regular-season finale against Mexico, winning 23-33 on the boys side, but losing the girls meet to the Tigers 25-30.
Craig Andrianos led the boys Spartans with a second-place time of 17:16 behind Mexico’s Ryan Demers, who won in 16:53. Matt Lyons was third in 17:30.
The real rush began with Andrew Troast, in fifth place (17:47), as Dylan Courbat finished sixth in 18 minutes flat, one second ahead of Pete Ferstler in seventh. Kevin Rogers was 10th in 18:33.
ESM girls star Meghan Visser pulled away from most of the field, but even her time of 20:09 only meant second place as Mexico’s Tia Bullard won in 19:11.
Alyssa Passett was fourth in 22:23, the only other Spartan runner in the top five. Mexico claimed four of the top six spots before Marissa Kite (23:02) landed in seventh place. Elizabeth VanDeusen was eighth (23:05) and Cara Andrianos took ninth (23:07), but the Tigers held on.
