Cicero-North Syracuse’s cross country teams had full control in last Wednesday’s meet at Henninger, beating the Black Knights 15-50 on both fronts.
Running at Sunnycrest Park, the Northstars had Nicole Watterud win in a time of 20 minutes, 54 seconds, with Marissa Colburn second in 21:17.
Mackenzie Cummings landed in third place, just ahead of Dana Rinaldi as they both finished in 21:34 ahead of Katie Laris and Jamie Leone (both 21:35). Christina Sakowski was seventh in 21:36 as Stefany Gale, Samantha Mozo (both running in 22 minutes flat) and Lori Holmes (22:07) completed a top-10 sweep.
Meanwhile, in the boys race, CNS saw Eric Hart and Chris Buchanan pull away from the rest of the field. Hart won in 16 minutes, 38 seconds, one second clear of Buchanan.
Ken Ryan, in 17 minutes flat, finished third, with Jared Walther fourth (17:10) and Dan Fritz (17:16) rounding out the top five. Rob Donaldo was sixth, in 17:20, with Alex Bottorff (17:25), Anthony Lupia (17:27), Steve Rathbun (17:29) and Anthony Mirizio (17:34) close behind.
