Any chance it could, the Chittenango boys golf team went back out to the course, looking to close out its regular season with a pair of road matches.
Going to Pointe East last Monday, the Bears met unbeaten OHSL Freedom division leader Christian Brothers Academy and took a 196-220 loss to the Brothers.
Ryan McGinnis broke par, with 34 for nine holes. However, Joe Ezzo (40) had the only other solid round amid a flurry of solid CBA efforts, including Josh Rathbun’s 37 and equal rounds of 38 from Aidan Fuller and Andrew Derrenbacker.
Playing again 24 hours later at Rogues Roost, the Bears bashed Mexico 215-265. McGinnis again shot 34, and got help this time around as Joe Ezzo (41), Caleb Mannix (45), Eric Russell (47) and Sean Murray (48) all had solid rounds.
And in howling winds on Wednesday, Chittenango lost to Homer 216-218, as McGinnis did well to shoot a 40, one shot better than the Trojans’ Brad Mitchell.
