The Jordan Village Board approved the village budget Thursday April 23, with no increase to the current tax levy of about .049 percent, or $4.93 per $100,000 assessed value.
Keeping taxes level was a top priority for the board; this year residents faced a town-wide revaluation, a continued depressed economy and about $20 million in renovations planned for Jordan-Elbridge Central School District.
The board also discussed exploring using MuniciPay, a system that would allow residents to make credit card payments at no additional cost to the village. Mayor Dick Platten reported Trustee Lee Badman had researched the system and recommended the village move forward implementing the system. Credit card payments would not be made mandatory but would be an additional payment option for residents.
