Though it did pick up the no. 12 seed for the Section III Class A playoffs, the Chittenango girls volleyball team did not stay for long.
In three games Tuesday night, the Bears lost to no. 5 seed Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, which meant the team had a final regular-season mark of 6-15.
Beaten 25-10 in the opener, Chittenango had its best chance to pull even in the second game, only to see the Red Devils pull it out 26-24 before the third game went 25-13 in VVS’s favor.
Jamie Gibbons had four kills, while Brittney Tirabassi got two kills and three assists. Kelsey Pudney added six assists. VVS had Alexis Albro earn eight kills and Rachel Brown add 12 assists.
