Even though the highlights for the Cicero-North Syracuse boys basketball team this winter have been rare to find, the players just keep on improving.
And the Northstars had an impressive showing last Friday night in front of the home folks as it beat Nottingham by a score of 60-46.
Led again by John Howell, CNS jumped out to a 19-10 first-quarter lead. The Bulldogs ate away at that margin over the next two periods, but could not get closer as the Northstars regained its margin down the stretch.
Howell finished with 23 points, one of four CNS players in double figures as he sank six 3-pointers. Eric Munoz had 12 points, while Andy Falvey worked inside for 11 points and Deyon Smith added 10 points. For the Bulldogs, Devorn Kinsey and Cameron Isaac each had 12 points and Terrence Warren added 11 points.
CNS goes for back-to-back wins Tuesday, against Liverpool, before meeting Fayetteville-Manlius Thursday night and Rome Free Academy on Friday.
