Given the fact that it had lost three times in the previous week, the West Genesee boys basketball team desperately needed to turn things around.
Hosting Baldwinsville last Friday night, the Wildcats found some good news, handling the Bees by a score of 64-40.
WG kept a steady advantage throughout the first half, but didn’t really take over until the third quarter, when it outscored B’ville 16-6. Overall, the Wildcats gave up just 14 second-half points and half the number it allowed to Fayetteville-Manlius earlier in the week.
Conor Regin, kept quiet in the F-M game, roared on this night with five 3-pointers on his way to 16 points.
Joe Fazio and Greg Wadach both had 10 points, with Jack Conboy and Eric Spencer each earning eight points. Tyler Monnat, with 12 points, was the lone Bees player to reach double figures.
WG improved to 6-8 on the season.
