Morrisville-Eaton’s wrestling team went to Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Saturday for the Central New York Tournament, involving many CSC and Tri-Valley League opponents.
The Warriors would finish with 44 points, good for 13th place in an 18-team field where Holland Patent, with 206 points, would end up on top.
Many of M-E’s top wrestlers, including reigning state champion Ryan LeBalanc, were off. But Shane Strong advanced to the 285-pound final, where he lost to Sherburne-Earville star Chris Pike 5-0.
Jordan Doroshenko claimed third place at 145 pounds by pinning Dolgeville’s Alex Marshall early in the third period.
M-E gets to be at home this week for back-to-back meets against Tri-Valley League foes Oneida on Tuesday and Camden on Thursday night.
