Right after falling to Phoenix on Wednesday, the Bears would go to Canastota on the weekend for the two-day Richard New Memorial Touranment.
And once there, Chittenango fared quite well, taking eighth place in a field of 18 with 96 points, though Phoenix (283 points) routed the field.
Cole Farsaci had the Bears’ best finish, getting to third at 112 pounds when he beat John Northrup (Rush-Henrietta) 8-3 in the consolation finals as Brooks got fifth place in that same weight class. Rudy Farsaci took fourth place at 119 pounds. Blanding (130 pounds) finished fifth, while Chappell got sixth at 145 pounds.
On Wednesday night, Chittenango gets a tough test at Cortland before heading to Fabius-Pompey Saturday for the Falcons’ own dual meet.
