After a five month investigation, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division arrested and charged Laverne L. King Jr., 41, of Earlville, with:
• Class A Felony – Predatory sexual assault against a child.
• Class B Felony – Course of Sexual conduct against a child in the first degree.
• Class A Misdemeanor – Endangering the welfare of a child.
King Jr. is alleged to have committed the above listed offenses repeatedly against a child who was less than 13 year old, during 2011, while residing in Madison County. King has since moved to Chenango County, where he was located via the New York Sex Offender Registry.
King was arraigned on Dec. 30, 2015 in the Town of Madison Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail with no bail. He is due in Madison County Court at a later date to answer charges.
Assisting in this arrest was the Madison County Children’s Advocacy Center, Madison County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services and the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
